Tournament Report - Take A Breather Lad 2nd Edition

Tournament report: Take a breather Lad 2nd Edition - aka Life sucks and then you die. well, the tournament was great, it was me who sucked... Hello Guild Ballers!  Here we are again with the next post on my blog, this one's about my third tournament.  Take a breather lad, 2nd Edition.  As the subtitle suggests, I didn't do very well and you'll read below who/what I blame for that below. (Multiple times) Intro: (Boring part) So it's thursday, I'm up at 04h30 a.m. to go to work after only getting into bed at 01h00 a.m. - I tried to go asleep that night at 11h00 p.m. But keep looking at the alarmclock instead of closing my eyes for some much needed sleep...  Last digits I saw where these: 0:03.  Again I wake up at 04h30, the alarm goes of for my second day at work.  After I get home from work at 7h12 p.m. (I work 12h shifts and it's about a 1h drive) I see we have guests.  I put of cooking till after the guests leave and opt to get some take-...

Game 29 - an Off day for Midas

Image
Hello Guild Ballers! After being pummeled by the butchers last week I swore to never underestimate my opponents again.   Resulting in me pummeling a Midas Team coached by Wouter De Rycke.  I hope he still had fun playing a game where nothing much went as he wanted it to go... Line-ups: Wouter fielded a Midas team with Flask, Calculus, Mercury, Vitriol and Katalyst.   I brought Mash, Spigot, Hooper and a union member Hemlocke with my standard Captain and mascot, Tapper & Scum. I was elected to kick after Wouter won the roll-off. So I fielded my team and kicked with Mash Turn 1: * Katalyst came in to retrieve the ball and kicked it in front of his team.  Calculus got to snap the ball.  But The big guy was standing there, very close to my brewers... * Measuring the distance I could drag him into Tapper range with the dodge push results from Mash.  So that's what we went for and were able to pull it off.  No momentum, ...

Game 28 - a recipe for pâté

Game 28  -   How Pâté is made in Belgium. My 2nd game for our local small Leauge (well, it has 18 Players, but we don't use the Big League system) is against Jona, a newcomer, a joungster, a guy that made a fool out of me...  Using the Butchers under Ox for his 4th or 5th game, he said.  What I didn't realise is that this youngster did his homework... Any of you know how Pâté is made?  Yes?  Well that's how I felt... as the grinded meat in a pâté (feel free to skip the next part, it's basicly a recepy for Pâté with brewers) You really don't know how pâté is made?  Well you take some bacon - coming from parts of the throat, and the belly, but any part will do as long as it's bacon - some liver, and some meat coming from the shoulder of a pork for structure in the pâte. (That's all my brewers I fielded)  Mix in some herbs & spices (juniper, pepper, laurel, mosterd, salt, nutmeg), onions and garlic.  (The game the butch...

Game 27: If there's Smoke, there's fire!

Game 27: If there's Smoke, there's fire! Hello Guild ballers! This time I'll talk about another game against our local pundit  Robin.  Today he fields the alchemists for the first time lead by  Smoke. He didn't want to field Vitriol, as he dislikes the model and  thinks it's a bit OP. Line-Up: Instead this is what he brought to the field: Smoke - Flask - Calculus - Mercury - Vennin - Katalyst. I never played with Stoker before, and since he's got magical brew  I went with him.  I also planned on fielding Esters for the first  time, but as it turns out, I forgot to bring her card...  So I went  with Tapper again. My list: Tapper - Scum - Stave - Stoker - Hooper -  Friday Turn one: As always with the Brewers I was of with a slow start.  I didn't want to put Friday at risk and played it my way: keep the ball away and let them come close to hit them hard when they do. Stoker went for...
