Game 21 - Masons VS Alchemists – Casual game (learning the alchemists)

Game 2 1 - Masons VS Alchemists – Casual game (learning the alchemists) Hello Guild Ballers, At long last I am changing my play-list.   No I’m not playing Esters. I’m playing a different guild today!   Masons!   I had planned to read up on the cards beforehand, but as I have a life outside of guild ball (I wish I wouldn’t sometimes) I didn’t get a chance.   So arriving on the scene I brought these as a pure masons line-up:    Honour, Marbles, Harmony, Flint, Mallet, Chisel My opponent for today is Jens.   A player who played Alchemists a few times and fell in love with them.   His line-up: Smoke – Flask – Venin – Calculus – Mercury   - Vitriol This is from the top of my head, as we are used to by now! Game summary: I had to kick the ball and I did so with honour.   I had no Idea how to distribute influence so I gave them all 2 and honour 3 if I remember correctly…   WRONG as it will soon turn out as from turn 1 it go...

Tournament Report: Summer Slam; Games 18 - 19 - 20

Hello Guild Ballers! A bit late since the tournament was last Saturday already, but I've finally started writing up my report on the Summer Slam Tournament in Gent the 18th of June. I came in second after tiebreakers after having three wins as you'll read up. To find my line-up I used go read this bit of the blog here:  " picking my tournament 8" So here goes: Getting there: Although my wife knew I was going to play in a tournament that day she forgot about when I had to leave.  I had to unload some Ikea DIY furniture before I could leave.  This brought some extra stress into my day, and I was already nervous after coming in second on my first tournament.  I had to show my games weren't all just about lucky dice rolls. Anyway, I felt like having swallowed a brick and wanted to get rid of it more than once using the toilets for an attempt at number 2 without much succes.  After arriving it didn't take long before my friends at the club noticed I w...

Picking my tournament 8

Last Saturday I've attending a 3 round event in my local gaming club.  It was called the Summer Slam.   I had some trouble deciding on my tournament 8.  I wanted to field Tapper, since he's all I've been playing. Quaff isn't out yet so, yeah, Scum.  These two were a no brainer to mee.  After those two I'm in love with Stave so he'll come along.  I've tried Mash and Friday, but Friday comes up as the best go to Striker to use so I'll include her.  The rest was a blur. So this is the line up I was sure about: Tapper - Scum - Stave - Friday  Now I'll give you some names I was pondering of putting in my list, after that I'm going to have a look at the cards, what they bring to the team in my opinion and why I'm not sure I'll take them yet.  This will not be a full rundown of all mentioned players, not by a longshot.  So please don't point fingers and tell me I forgot this or that, that player X is actually totally different from wha...

Games 14 - 15 - 16 and 17

Hello Guild Ballers! It has been busy for me in the guild ball scene. My 14th game was helping a fellow guild ball player out in completing a team and putting it to the test.  Isabelle wanted to take a morticians team comprised out of Obulus, Vileswarm, Silence and Ghast.  For the two remaining slots she only had union players available, Minx, Rage, Fangtooth and Mist.  In her previous 3 to 4 games, she wasn't sure about the number she had, she had used Minx and Rage and loved the free charges.  I convinced her to go with Fangtooth and Mist instead and showed her why without giving the game away... Well, I ended up loosing anyway after charging in on Fangtooth and beating him till he was dead, only to then discover the Morticians circled around the pitch and started playing football between Silence and Ghast! At one point I tried to score but didn't premeasure, I came less than half an inch short for my goalkick to make it an even 10-10 and lost the game by havin...
