Image
Hello Guild Ballers! Here's another report! Commentator style! Imagine the right voices with it and enjoy! Bill: “Good evening ladies and gentlemen!  Welcome to another guild ball game where our teams try out the new found rookies!  I’m joined here tonight by Phill and we’re hoping for some real excitement, aren’t we Phill?” Phill : “Yes we are Bill, we are looking forward to some excitment.  Before we start off though, Bill, who do you think will win this game?” Bill: “Well Phill, I’m no phsycic, but this’ll be a walk in the park for Seasoned Brisket once she gets the ball off the Blacksmiths, don’t you agree?” Phill : “I don’t know Bill, how many games has Mist tried his same routine over and over without any succes?  You know, the odds are there but he lacks in execution! You can do all the math you want but in the end of the day, it’s still a dice game, Bill!” Bill : “Sure Phill, but come on!  The Blacksmith coach doesn’t hav...

The Gamers Guild, 2nd Player

Image
Hello Guild Ballers, Today it's time to reveal the 2nd player of our Gamers Guild.  I hade some guesses on who tinker was, but didn't hear from the person in question.  I had one correct answer and I had one player buggin me about continuing this series ASAP as he wanted to be transformed into a guild ball character.  I'm not going to meet his demands yet. I am however going to reveal the 2nd player I have lined up for you guys!  With Season 4 coming up I tried to adjust how the cards look but further adaptatoins might be needed when season 4 drops.  Without further ado: The Striker of the gang: Shove: Let's go over the card front together since there might be some unreadable notations on there. Melee zone 2" MOV: 5/7 TAC: 4 KICK: 3/8" DEF: 4+ ARM: 0 INF: 2/4 The playbook isn't heavy on damage, but is cohesive with the player's name.  A lot of momentous results and a 'shitload' of pushes.  The KD is early on t...

Rookie League Match Report: Alchemists vs The Church

Image
Hello Guild Ballers Today, a small match report from our Rookie League. I’m still playing Union (Church) with Rookie Fangtooth, he’s on 4 on his front and 1 on the back with his bunny hopping cosplay build. After having a friendly match prior to this on the training fields coach Lisa wanted a match for realsies. She won the initiative and fielded these players on the pitch: Midas, Flask, Rookie Venin, Mercury, Vitriol and o.Katalyst Facing that team for the church was: V.Brisket, Pride, Rookie Fangtooth, Harry ‘the hat’, v.Spigot, Mist Turn 1 Mist kicked the ball smack into an obstruction where Vitriol collected it and punted it on her captain.   Mist went in with the 2” melee stealing the ball but failing to generate momentum booted the ball back towards his team.   It landed on the middle line and Katalyst scooped it up to pass it back to his lines, it scattered somewhat behind the line-up but in front of the goal line since the big guy isn’t th...

The Gamers Guild

Image
Hello Guild Ballers I'm back for some more fiction.   It has been a while, since I'm dedicating most of my free time towards a new hobby of mine; Beekeeping.  Yes I got into beekeeping, not only inventing the beekeepers guild for guild ball... The Gamers Guild! As the title says I'm creating a new guild for guild ball.   It's based on real players from my gaming club.  If I do my job right, people should be able to tell it's about them, but I will not put names to my players.  And as if it was meant to be...  My gaming club's name is actually the Gamers Guild! Since my gaming club has more than 6 players I'm going to release them one by one, starting with the Captain of course! Here goes, I know I'm not the wizard with making cards but I gave it a go (with Paint 3D) Player number one: Tinker: Since not all stats are clear I'll repeat them in plain text : Melee Zone: 1" MOV: 7"/9" TAC: 7 KICK: 3/6" DEF: 4+ ...

Matchreport: Ratcatchers into Masons

Hello Guild Ballers, It started itching again to work on this blog, so I decided to report on my last game.  As per usual I did not take notes and have lost count on how many games I'm at.  So here goes for my umphteenth game of guildball: My lineup: Standard ratcatchers with Piper, Squeak, Pillage, Skulk, Scourge, Miasma. The Masons line-up: Honour, Marbles, Harmony, oChisel, Flint, Mallet So I received and put Skulk on one side away from the diseased duo, Pillage in the next spot and Piper and Squeak on the other side. Mallet kicked the ball towards a barrier and I gave Scourge 2 to go and collect the ball and pass it. The pass failed (towards Miasma, who was my only player in his kick-range) but scattered onto Pillage.  The monkey walked up a bit so I did the same with squeak. Thinking I wanted Flint and the sisters out of the way before I tried to move Pilage up field to go and score the first goal.  You guessed it, they didn't move and towards the end...

Playing a fun Masons list - game report

Image
Hello Guild Ballers, As my musings from last time were somewhat uncoördinated, so was my gameplay. I lost to Obulus 4-14. Obulus brought: Dirge, Cosset, Bonesaw, oGraves and Silence to the table. I brought the suggested bad fun list of Hammer, Marbles, oHarmony, Granite, Chisel, Lucky. Before hand I thought I could score with oHarmony at the very least, but man this team is INF hungry.  I ended up doing almost nothing with oHarmony and Chisel and used Granite, Lucky and Hammer most of the time.  Marbles was in the action most of the time, but without much to do. Short Summary: For Turn 1 on my side nothing much happened, I kept most of my players back and the morticians kicked the ball around, missed the pass to Bonesaw (typical) so the ball ended up on Silence instead of on Bonesaw - Bonesaw moved to midfield where I knocked him down after charging with Lucky.  After that Lucky dodged away and Silence dodged forward. Turn 2 put the hurt on Bonesaw, who s...
