Game 42 - Tripple F

Image
Hello Guild Ballers, We're back with a game report this week and we'll be covering a match between my brewers and our local pundit Robin piloting a band of Butchers. A little birdy wispered in our pundits ear that butchers could play football.  I have no idea how much the little bird is to blame for the line-up fielded across the table from me: Fillet - Truffles - Boiler - Meathook - Shank - vBrisket I took out Tapper for the first time since S3 kicked in: Tapper - Scum - Hooper - Mash - Friday - Hemlocke I fielded my players and took out some sheets of paper to take notes.  But as it turns out I missed several activations and had to fill them out on my form 3-4 activations later.  I found it was interupting my gameplay and am not sure if I'll keep this method alive for very long.  It should give you, however, a more accurate (well) look on the game as I noted how much influence the players got. * The Game: After putting some terrain on the board...

Meet Beast, the wildest of the Hunters

Image
Hello Guild Ballers, Since I missed my game of guild ball this week I figured I'd come up with a new player of sorts.  Didn't want to keep you waiting for a new post on my blog for too long *wink*. So I've been wanting for a player that has more interaction with the animals in Guild Ball.  It felt only natural to put him into the Hunter line-up.  Here is what I came up with: Fluff: " Eew!! What's that smell?! "  Hearne turned on the spot, nose all wrinkled up.  He was following the scent and gazed into a heap of rags.  All worn-out fur, patched up with no heed for fashion.  Pieces of wolf, rabit, deer, snake, some unrecognizable beasts even... All roughly stitched together in a cloak of sorts.  Under the hood two sky blue eyes flashed left and right.  If not for the eyes constantly moving about you would think there was no man in that heap of stinking clothes. Meet Beast, the wildest of the Hunters: 30mm base model: Beast 2" melee...

Game 41: a walk in the parc with Esters.

Image
Hello Guild Ballers, We're back with a game report and what a game it has been...  In length, in suspence, ... an awesome game overall.  I can only hope you enjoy this read as much as I enjoyed playing this out. Oh on a side note, before you begin: The title is not doing the game any justice and is only there to get on Tom's tits. (Luv ya, Tom!)  The struggle was real and my buttocks were clenched tight, I pitty the Flint looking for penetration during this game. (Or at any other time, really.  I'm straight as an arrow but I'm looking at things from Flint's perspective and normally I'm all for tightness...  Allas there's a thing as 'to tight') Preparation: Having painted up Quaff I was keen on using him.  I also wanted to give Esters another go so Esters and Quaff were 'auto include' into my line-up.  Knowing I was up against Engineers I was reluctant to put Stave in my list, but the only FB suggestion I got included Stave ...

Meet Ramble, a brewers Captain

Image
Hello Guild Ballers!! Today I've dreamt up a new captain for the brewers team, but lets get into the fluf first! "So you liked that story did ya?" Greyscales asked the new rookie. "Well yes, it was entertaining and funny... Why?  Didn't it really happen?" replied the rookie.  Greyscales grinned: "I'm not saying that, kid...  It might well have happened...  Look at the crowd.  They're all like you.  Clinging onto his lips waiting for the next words to come out to engorge them like delicious honey sweets.  He can tell a tale that one.  So much so he'd be able to make two stones fight eachother." The rookie sat there baffled, not knowing what Greyscales was trying to instruct here.  The frown on his forehead gave away the puzzlement he was in. Greyscales breath out was a loud one.  "I'm saying not to go take a liking to the man.  He'll have you fight for him before you know it.   This one they call Ramble never lifted ...

Game 40 - Using a Scalpel as a blunt force weapon... Not a good Idea.

Image
Hello guild ballers! Today we'll be looking at me fielding Scalpel to continue my series of losses. (not counting the demo games) I brought Scalpel - Dirge - Silence - Cosset - Casket - Ghast to the field to go head on into a Smoke - Alchemists team piloted by Tom Lacore. Tom fielded: Smoke - Flask - Mercury - Venin - Katalyst - Calculus. I lost all my initiative rolls, even the ones where I got 1 or 2 MP more than Tom. Here we go: I kick off with Cosset and keep the ball on the left side of the pitch. Turn 1: * Venin comes up to retrieve the ball and poisons himself to get better defense.  The ball is passed to Calculus. * I charge the bird in there for the "Singled out", it works. * Calculus activates and throws an AOE out not hitting anybody, passes the ball to Smoke. * Cosset goes crazy and charges into Venin and wastes the 2 inf for follow up swings.  In total I get to do 5 damage to him, I expected more. * Katalyst runs up to an obstruction to g...

A new guild: The Minersguild. (Fan Fiction)

Image
Hello Guild Ballers, Tonight I've been dreaming about a new guild for guild ball: The Miners guild! In my mind it's an overall slower guild - 4/6 MOV base stat. line, but with great passing tech. and movement shenannigans , thus focussing on scoring goals rather than taking out the enemy team. Here's some ideas for the models in the guild: Burrow:  40mm base model: Burrow 1"  (defender) - 20HP MOV: 4/6 TAC: 5 KICK: 2/6 DEF:3 ARM:1 INF: 1/3 Character Plays: Dig a hole : - Cost: 1 + OPT. Put a mine-counter on this model.  There cannot be more than 2 mine counters on this model.  Remove all mine-counters from this model as soon as it moves. The tunnel is ready boys: - Cost: X Remove X Mine-counters from this model an place a 40mm mine-entrance marker on the base of this model AND a 40mm mine-enterance marker max. 2" away per mine-counter removed from this model. There can only be 2 mine-entrance markers on the pitch per ...

Game 38,5 and 39-ish. Demoing with Masons vs Fish and Morticians vs Fish.

Hello Guild Ballers! I've been on hollidays with my family and introduced the wonderful game of guild ball to my brother in law, Brecht.  I gave him a demo game 3 vs 3 after explaining about how the general Idea of the teams were and what teams I had available (no hunters or butchers (not painted up), no engineers (I don't have them).  He was drawn towards the fishermen.  I opted to give honour another go. After the demo game on saterday evening (I won and didn't even try to) we had a full game (with terrain) on monday. I played: Scalpel - Dirge - Silence - Cosset - Casket - Ghast. My brother in law played: Shark - Salt - Greyscales - Angel - Kraken - Jac. I didn't have access to a pc and I didn't take notes so I can't remember much about the game we had.  I do remember he played the fishermen with to much bloodlust in mind and not so much the football game. I'm not going to go into details (like I do with my other reports) but he made eve...
